HOW Women Rise Together: Strengthening Each Other Through Action and Compassion

“Strength without compassion can become brutal. Compassion without strength can become ineffective.” — Tara Giunta

The 2025 HOW Women Lead Change Forum began with an inspiring Welcome Dinner conversation that set the tone for a weekend of reflection, learning, and connection. The session featured two remarkable women leaders: Najwa Attiga, Founder and Managing Partner of Attiga & Al Tuwaijri Advisory and Founder of the Women Lawyers Group Middle East, and Tara Giunta, Board Vice Chair of Invest Ahead and Board Member of both The Faith & Politics Institute and Women Business Collaborative.

A Conversation Rooted in Compassion and Action

Meg opened the evening by reflecting on a year marked by both challenge and growth. She reminded the audience that Quorum’s mission has always been about advancing women’s leadership through courage, compassion, and collective action—and about never leaving the room without identifying concrete next steps.

Najwa Attiga shared her journey from Libya and Kuwait to leadership roles in the United Arab Emirates and beyond. She spoke about the importance of building ‘parallel structures’—grassroots, transparent networks that help women continue their work when systems fail. Her message: when compassion and accountability guide our leadership, progress becomes unstoppable. Continue Reading…

Quorum Mentoring Circles

By Theresa Rynard
UK Quorum Mentoring Circles Co-Leader

In February, The Quorum Initiative, an organization dedicated to advancing women to leadership positions across the USA and UK launched its first Mentoring Circle, a pioneering initiative which I co-facilitated with Anne Groves. The concept is simple yet powerful: bring together a small group of senior women leaders to share experiences and expertise, offer challenge, and provide support in a structured and confidential environment.

Now with our year-long journey with the initial circle winding down, our first Mentoring Circle has become a vital anchor for its nine exceptional members – women business owners, C-suite leaders, and senior executives navigating the complexities of leadership. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. One participant summed it up perfectly: “It’s the most important item in my diary each month.” Another shared, “I look forward to this 90 minutes as time to focus on me and I always come out energised with a clearer focus.”

The value of the Mentoring Circle lies in its trust-based peer environment. It can be lonely at the top, and this space has become a sort of personal board of directors. Members bring real-time challenges – whether related to strategic business decisions, career navigation, or personal wellbeing – and receive not just advice, but empathy and actionable insight from women who truly understand.

We’re now preparing to launch our 2026 Mentoring Circles, in both the UK and the US. I encourage any senior woman leader seeking meaningful connection, strategic clarity, and personal growth to consider joining The Quorum Initiative and one of our valuable Mentoring Circles.

If you’re interested in learning more or would like to be part of our upcoming circles, please contact Diane Silverman. We’d love to welcome you.

When Quorum Connections Spark Creative Collaboration

This Artist is Turning Jazz into a Visual Form

At its heart, Quorum is about connections, women’s voices, and taking action. That’s why it’s especially exciting when two remarkable members of our community connect — and their collaboration helps amplify the important work each is doing.

Quorum member and artist Susan Weinthaler was inspired by Quorum’s mantra of taking action as she began her latest work-in-progress: a visual interpretation of jazz.

Through Quorum, Susan connected with another inspiring member, Liza Lentini, Executive Editor of SPIN and a frequent presenter at Quorum’s HOW Retreats. That connection led to Susan being featured in SPIN in an article by Liza titled “This Artist is Turning Jazz into a Visual Form.”

We love seeing how Quorum connections continue to open doors, inspire creativity, and elevate women’s voices.
